It's important to understand what you're viewing here. Most
of these pieces are prints of her original watercolors, she
is a self-published artist, and is carried throughout Alaska.
The prints are
either sold separately on Mattboard, held down with mylar
corners, and shrink wrapped or matted, handpainted and framed,
as you will view in this site. This unique process involves
Karla taking an image and cuts the mattes for it, then using
watercolors handpaints the mattes. Many pieces have matting
thick with texture, created with salt crystals. Others, delicate
staining, similar to shattered glass.
Whether design or a continuation of the image, all are special,
original and unique. It's important to understand that all
work is carefully done by the artist and then framed by her
husband Roy. This is NOT a manufacturing operation but a joint
artistic enterprise! Enjoy and please contact
